THE REWINDER
We can find windy roads in many places in Northern Norway, but finding the right angle to photograph them can be another story. Catching this incredible aurora into the narrow valleys of Senja took me good 2 hours of waiting under -10 degrees C, in a particularly awkward position perched on a sharp rock edge. I had studied and found this place using maps. I could see the potential before going there but I had never seen anyone taking a photo of it this way. The big work is to be able to anticipate the editing process once I am on spot. I knew roughly where to stand to have the right angle but it was not easy to access as the place is covered with big boulders fallen from the cliff edges. Taking a photo is something I love, but working hard beforehand to plan the photo is something I live for.

Comment faire ?
1) Munissez-vous du certificat d'authenticité et de l'oeuvre afin de voir clairement les polygones qui y sont présent.
2) Appuyez correctement sur les polygones qui vous sont proposés en vous référant à ceux qui sont présent sur le certificat et l'oeuvre. Ce contrôle se fait 'en aveugle' afin de ne pas divulger les polygones originaux ARTcertificate.
Attention, lors d'une étape de contrôle, vous ne trouverez pas de polygones valide, vous devrez alors appuyer sur le bouton 'Polygone absent'.

Virgil Reglioni

Originally from France, Virgil was born on September 26th, 1988. He grew up in a small town between Lyon and Switzerland and left France in May 2011 with a backpack on his back to explore the world and discover his passions for the great outdoors and photography. Since then, He has lived in 7 different countries - Australia, New Zealand, Czech Republic, Greece, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Svalbard; and visited more than 37 others through 5 continents. Virgil discovered completely diverse environments throughout these years of traveling. For the first time, he started guiding tourists and friends as a passion in 2011 when he discovered the incredible Daintree Rainforest in Queensland - Australia. After building connections throughout the world during a few more backpacking years, he became a full-time outdoor guide in April 2016. He acquired his first guiding skills in Crete - Greece and felt the need to test more challenging environments the following winter targeting The Arctic. He decided then to head North and guide snowmobile trips in Finland - Lapland for two winter seasons. The first sight of Northern lights was born. In the following years. He added more snowmobile guiding experience on the Icelandic glacier ''Langjokull'', and finally in Svalbard in 2020. He has now been teaching and photographing the Northern Lights in the Arctic regions, in Northern Norway for a couple of years and it quickly escalated as his main focus. During these last summers, he gained knowledge by guiding white water rafting trips on Icelandic glacial waters, and Norwegian rivers. In 2020, He spent his first summer as a nature guide and sea kayak guide in Spitsbergen - Svalbard. A true opportunity to access places where only a few people can access and the chance to find incredible hidden gems. Virgil always kept the guiding part as his main activity, as photography is hard to live from and to consider as main income. On top of bringing work and income safety, the guiding experiences allow him to access more and more remote and challenging places which makes his photography thrive so much as he adventures off the beaten track to find the ''unseen''. Virgil concentrates mainly on Landscape and Night Photography as It has always been a way to express his feelings through his travels and his emotions linked to a place, to a friend, or a special moment. Patience and creativity are all you need. Virgil believes in self-teaching, as he has never taken any photography course or lesson. This huge passion for photography and outdoors pushes him everyday and night to improve and it became now part of his everyday life. NorthernLights are a unique feature of his photography style and lead him to build powerful and constructive compositions around them. "A great aurora image is a great image even without aurora" The photos you find in his gallery are the result of thousands of hours spent outside under snowstorm, strong winds, heavy heat, cold temperatures, long drives, great hikes, early mornings, late evenings, and a tremendous amount of time spent waiting and facing nature without knowing what will come. All the photos come with powerful captions and storytelling to get you to understand the context and the moment of capture.
